Founder/Treasurer

Ricki Nyarko

Recce Nyarko is the founder of Friends of Africa, formerly known as African Student Association weekend of NJ, and where she now serves on its board of directors as treasurer. She graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and currently attends Chamberlain University where she is pursuing a career in nursing.

President

Elizabeth Adejumo

Elizabeth Adejumo is one of the founding members of Friends of Africa, formerly known as ASA Weekend NJ. She has a Bachelor of Science in Computational and Integrative Biology with a Molecular Concentration and minors in Chemistry and Human Resource Management. She is the Creative Director of Deluxe Creations, a full service event management company, co-founder of Gingah LLC, an African brand and Director of Operations at Agnes Care & Rehabilitation Center, INC. Elizabeth also works with several small businesses as a business strategy consultant. She looks forward to the development of Friends of Africa, INC and the impact we will make in our community and the African diaspora.

Executive Assistant

Stephen Adeniyi

Stephen Adeniyi is one of the founding members of Friends of Africa Inc., formerly known as ASAWeekendNJ. He, first, started out as the secretary but then transitioned into his Executive Assistant role as of summer 2021. He attended Rowan University where he graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences in December 2018. He graduated with his Master of Biomedical Sciences degree from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in September 2021. He is attending medical school in order to fulfill his passion of becoming a neurosurgeon. Stephen is a multifaceted individual, as he is involved in many different things. He is a youth director for his church, Sunday school teacher as well as a men’s physique model. Stephen is very passionate about health and fitness and prides himself on helping people to reach their fitness goals. He is eager to give back to his community and personally touch lives for the better.

Funding Chair

Cherel Gyamfi

Cherel Gyamfi is a creative entrepreneur who started off as our public relations chair - she has been able to help Friends Of Africa on social media in abundance. Now she is our Funding chair and designer (when it comes to most of our own content). Cherelsdesign is her business as well as Thecabaretiv, a black woman lux private member club. She also helps businesses grow with her expertise alongside her other several goals.

Community Chair

Olamide Adejumo

Olamide Adejumo is a Jane of All Trade. She first started on our team as our Treasurer and has transitioned into her new role as our Community Outreach Coordinator. She is a Stockton University Alumna where she received her Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a minor in Childhood Studies. Outside of her role on our team Olamide is a Hairstylist and a Make-up Artist. Giving back to the community is something that is very important to her and she can’t wait to bring everyone along on this journey.

Public Relation

Jade Haneef

Jade Haneef is the head of Public Relations. Currently i’m in my last semester at Temple University studying Engineering. After Jade Haneef is the head of Public Relations. Currently she is in her last semester at Temple University studying Engineering. After undergrad, she plans on working and going to grad school in the near future.
