Understanding Our Rights

The purpose of this event is to educate U.S residents of their rights granted through the U.S constitution. These specific groups of rights are set forth and mentioned in the first 10 amendments. These amendments are known as the “Bills of Rights”.

Mental Health in the African Community

For Black History month, we wanted to showcase different aspects of the African community through fitness, fashion, creativity, beauty, business tips, and self care. This brings us here to our next event, Mental Health in the African Community. Mental health is a hard and scary discussion to have in the African Community. Our main objective for this event is to create an open and safe space for us to discuss mental health and the stigma surrounding it in the Black and African community. That is why we felt it was necessary to have mental health advocates and experts join us for this event.

Are You Smarter Than a FOA Member

For Black History month, we wanted to showcase different aspects of the African community through fitness, fashion, creativity, beauty, business tips, and self care. This brings us here to our first event, Are You Smarter Than A FOA Member: Kahoot Edition. This fun, interactive game gave us a chance to question the audience about African countries that aren’t really talking about often. The audience was questioned on various things such as national foods, celebrities, flag recognition, etc. All in all, this event was able to help us increase our knowledge on Africa as a whole in a whole new way!
