COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Education is a key component for a bright and thriving future. No child should go without their basic school supplies and with this program, we want to help make sure they are prepared for a successful school year! Every year before the school season starts, we put a book bag drive together with the help of other local non-profits (Agnes Care, Honeycomb Poetics) to gather school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, pens, and more to the local public schools. Each year, we have the opportunity to donate to different schools so that everyone has the chance to experience this change.
Gifts Of Giving
While receiving and giving gifts to loved ones during the holidays is important, it is even more important to give to the less fortunate. It was through this mindset that our initiative, Gifts of Giving, was created. During this holiday season, we made care packages of essentials such as hats, scarves, gloves, deodorant, blankets for people not as fortunate during the winter season. After the packages are made, we pass them out to people in need! This is why we decided to continue the Gifts of Giving as a bi-monthly outreach! Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission
Every holiday season, we open up this opportunity to the community to join us on a day of service on Thanksgiving. This year, we collaborated with Sunday’s Breakfast Rescue Mission to feed over 200 Philadelphia residents a hearty Thanksgiving dinner. Plate by plate, FOA was able to help make Thanksgiving feel more special!
